    Fallout 4 Prop Thread

Awesome. Must have taken ages to take all that footage, edit it up for us. Thanks a bunch, it's really interesting stuff. Moar, moar, as the kids say. :)

What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench? Failed the paint job on my Tintin "Destination Moon" rocket ship. So restarting it. Step 1. Scrub hard with sandpaper, try not to destroy model. Step 2. Surface needs rebuilding. So, slather with wood filler. Step 3. Sand. Sand. Sand. Then repeat...

Rey's Blaster Build in Aluminum (taking advantage of sale today on aluminum part)

s2jesse Magnificent work, but now you have to do one with "normal" tools in order to encourage (or at least not completely depress) mere mortals such as me. :-) @anakin, would you mind doing a progress build report as you go? Cheers. Really looking forward to seeing you make this.

Resin Plaster - Any good for cheap casting?

Thanks again, and for everyone's help. I think I'll go with the value pack, and get my hands dirty. Big cheers.

Jeepers, that is some foin work, laddy. You could crack open a few sploicers with that.

Resin Plaster - Any good for cheap casting?

Thanks again guys for all the help here. I've been busy researching the options, but admit to finding it overwhelming-super-useful-frightening-excellent. :-) I have looked at Barnes, Adelaide Moulding & Casting, and Rowes Trading (Adelaide). The trick with Barnes is that they can't provide...

    Rey's Gun TFA

I didn't do any scaling. For the grips, I just selected the two objects, exported them as STL, printed at 100%. For the rest, I just created orthographic views, exported to PDF. Then used Adobe Reader's Poster mode to print at 100% over several sheets of paper. The printed grips matched up...

    Rey's Gun TFA

I've only printed the grips. I'm in the process of making the rest of the model with foamed PVC. I made one of the grips by hand, but it was to much work. But the grips printed out exactly right.

    PropShop announces TFA Props!

(I'm not the target audience, and I don't normally get involved in this sort of discussion... but it's Friday, so...) I really don't see the difference between being a "replica company" and selling "additional copies" in this case. It's not like they discovered that there were 3 extra...

    Alien Blaster (Fallout 4)

Excellent work! So you carved all that down from an MDF base, and then expanding foam? Jeepers, that would have taken some effort! Could you elaborate on the process a bit more? e.g. the electronics/lighting used, the transparent materials used, how you built the grips etc? Cheers.

Resin Plaster - Any good for cheap casting?

Thanks for all the advice, guys. It gave me a lot to think about. My original plan was to just use oogoo and some "Friendly Plastic" or the like for making small pieces, but after your words, I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy some reputable silicone/resin starter kits instead...
