Without knowing contracts etc. I agree it seems like the next company is free to use the previous products to whatever degree, based on those (and other) prior examples. But in some cases (like the Diamond Select phaser and tricorder) they paid HMS to produce a prototype for them, which of...
I'm also firmly on the "it's the accuracy, not the price" complainer's list.
I understand that things cost a lot to make, and that replicas (mass-produced and otherwise) aren't going to cost what they did 10/20/30 years ago.
My issue with Factory is the price to accuracy ratio. I would have...
This is the same company that seems to count doing a Google image search as "research" for their previous replicas, so banging together a display piece out of two companies' previous products doesn't seem that unexpected.
I certainly hope they don't duplicate the wonky rear fins/fin cutout from...
And mine does just flop open, but won't make it to quite 90. It's not a big deal for me, though clearly there is a bit of difference from unit to unit. That doesn't entirely surprise me, since there is a ton of geometry involved on every section of the tricorder (which is why building kits are...
You'd need two of the larger opening divider to make the science scanner fit. The smaller divider (that would support the acrylic section of the med scanner) is too small to allow the science scanner to sit low enough for the door to close.
I know Wand Co. replicated the prop as it exists today, but I really wish they had gone with the straight door pulls.
I guess I'll just need to figure out how to crack open the inner door panels...
I'm not sure if the body with the straight door pulls even existed at that point. I think the blue-jewel faceplate got switched to the Jewelarama body after season 1.
And in another continuity mix up in City on the Edge when Spock is in front of the Guardian he has the #1 hero with the...
That's awesome! I'm glad somebody finally got that tricorder! After he flaked on me and tried selling the same piece to so many other people I just assumed he never had any of the things he was selling!
Again, this is fantastic work!
I know you've already worked your plans a million times, but would it be possible to have a version of the back that is featureless (no screws/no button) for those that might want a static build?
I have one of those figures. He looks fantastic! I can't believe what they go for now a days, but Mezco really knocked it out of the park on The Cage Spock.
I'm sorry to hear that. He scammed me last year on Facebook (goes by Jamie Michael there) but thankfully PayPal rescued my money.
When I saw his sales threads here I had hoped my situation was just some kind of misunderstanding, but obviously not.
