Update for everyone here.
So we spoke with Xie, and they've determined another prototype is not necessary. They are confident that the feedback I provided is noted and they can incorporate it without worry.
They also indicated that production will be nearly as fast as another prototype...
As it currently stands as Bryan mentioned. There was outstanding feedback on the last prototype which was provided. We are told we should have some guidance come Wednesday as to whether an additional prototype incorporating the feedback will be done or whether production will commence. I am...
Bryan is in fact correct. With the UK kerfuffle Lewis is focused on meeting the promised (and paid for) commitments first. We are ensuring we all stay focused there before doing Leia (tho there ARE still plans to). The model has been complete for some time and is simply awaiting prototyping. We...
All,
Feedback on the sample has been provided to TXQ. Almost every measurement of the sample is within 0.02mm of the model except for 3 areas which TXQ will need to review further. Overall this sample is the best I've seen (including the one from the previous UK machinist). I know everyone is...
With the recent events of the machinist in the UK we are evaluating factories for this. Once I have an update I will absolutely share! We may use TXQ's factory and we may find another factory. Originally this had been out for quote and then 7C underwent their issue with the UK factory. This run...
Don't worry. I'll do a scrub of additional folks and such with the next update. We're in the process of working out the prototype and once we have some goodies to show I'll make sure everyone is updated and I will also gather up folks who want to get added to the list! ☺️
If you are referring to the darkening area that is oxidation. The downside to 7075 is that while it is stronger, it does oxidize. Light steel wool will remove that without marring the finish.
All,
Just a quick update: The machining spec package has been sent to our U.K. machinist for evaluation and prototyping. Should have pics of real metal here relatively soon!
Will get the last couple interested folks added here soon and provide details as we get stuff back from machinist.
This...
Also the Devil has been in the details and we think we finally are happy with the windvane internals also. This has been one of the most challenging parts of the design (to be honest the windvane internals and the switch box have been the hardest two parts to get right on this design).
How do...
