Thorssoli's Ironman MkIII Build - Finished Suit Pics Page 26!!

Actually, most comic book superheroes are way beyond 8 heads tall; 8.5 to 9 is the norm. Regular humans are more like 7-7.5 heads tall. It's actually most dependent on height, as the adult head (brain, eye) size is mostly constant and thus the more you can fit the head's length on the total...

The build quality is utterly amazing. The head is too big though. But it's not your fault - can't compete with the idealized proportions of a CG character ;)

Halo 4 Scout scratch build / first one ever built

Liked it on the 405th before, still liking it.. a lot! Only one small suggestion: it could use a little more dirt. The edge wear is spot on but the surfaces where the paint is intact are far too even. A little black wash and some dirt stains would break up these areas nicely IMHO.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Edward Kenway cosplay project

You need to reinforce the hood somehow, too - maybe hide some wires in it. In the CG movies we cheat a LOT to get that silhouette, with a normal hood you'll never get that look.

    Halo 4 DIDACT Build

Words can not describe this. It has to be your best work yet, and probably the best fan made costume ever, too... Especially considering that you weren't making templates from original 3D files, but made your own sculpt from scratch instead. Congratulations!

    Foam cutting and foam coating

Band saw is probably pretty good, but makes it hard to make angled cuts. I've read about people using laser cutters, hotwire cutters, hot knives (basically soldering iron with a blade that's heated) ... So far what I've been using a simple X-acto knife and I've bought a 100-blade pack. I...

    General Zod costume help?

Be warned, there was no Zod armor built on Man of Steel. All the Kryptonian armor for every male character was full CGI. This means the costume is probably going to be very very hard to build and move in... :)

Re: Just What This Forum Needs: Another Ironman Build Is it too late to put in a vote for the darker color? It looks much better IMHO...

Re: Just What This Forum Needs: Another Ironman Build Red is notoriously hard to light in CGI, especially if it is a reflective metallic surface in outdoor lighting conditions. It'll have a lot of blueish color spill from the reflection of the sky, and even if the VFX crew gets it right...

FemShep N7 Armor, Valkyrie Rifle, + Omniblade (Mass Effect 3)

Still amazed how you can pull off stuff in real life that we had to seriously cheat in CG... ;)

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag Edward Kenway WIP

We made the CG version to look like leather, but then again we never have to care about how it'd work in real life...
