Yes, I have actually already made and sold one run of twelve. Another run is in the works, but I won't offer them for sale until they are actually finished.
Getting closer to a batch run pretty soon, and I will NOT offer items for sale until I've completed a batch.
Keep your eyes open people. I have to get an acting gig out of the way first and might start a run around November time.
Thanks for the interest. Keep your eyes open, peeps. I’m still trying to get components, but I won’t be offering finished headsets until I have a run ready in quantity.
The eyepiece is three-quarters conjecture, since you can only see the top of it in published pictures. I've tried to make it 'star-warsy' and also match the design of the Sankyo camera. It's entire made out of styrene sheet and EMA tubing, and actually screwed in with M3 screws. If any better...
Finished. The eyepiece is pure guesswork, but I've tried to keep the Star Wars Imperial vibe as well as try to emulate the construction of the original camera.
Fabrication pretty much finished before painting- I have no idea what the eyepiece looks like since there are no shots of that side yet, so I have made a minimalist guess. That part can be unscrewed and replaced if needs be.
I may well start to strip and convert one of mine, and make an educated guess as to the eyepiece section, possibly using binocular parts. I can get three-quarters of it right, anyway.
Gentle bump here- any more info, chaps? I’ve ordered a number of strap swivel mounts to screw in like the screen-used. Still looking for shots of the eyepiece section, and for 3D printed detail parts to appear. I know at least one fabricator is working on this- are there others?
