I hadn't received an answer yet, no, but don't use your materials to do a test for me. I have both materials, and can do a trial of my own, I was just hoping someone had already done it and could answer. Doesn't hurt to save on materials if someone has made a mistake before me. :D
I have not...
I hang out in a lot of artist's/crafter's communities, and the typical "formula" that we came up with as a consensus is:
(cost of materials x 3) + (hours of work x fair wages) = cost of piece
With the hours of work and fair wages, you have to be flexible because obviously when you're first...
Usual stained glass technique involves either a) applying a self-sticking copper foil to the edges of the glass, and soldering over it or b) using lead came (a term for an "H" shaped extruded lead bar). From the look of the antiqued copper between the pieces, I'm guessing tape.
You're going to...
Ah, bummer. Yeah, I think the other forum where I originally found the link were complaining later that day that the BBC site was just playing black or something for a while that day.
And I agree... in order, she's very interesting. The way she was originally presented, I didn't hate her, but...
Lets hope someone watches it, unlike when I posted it in post 1692. :lol
I thought it was a very helpful chronological ordering of River's various appearances.
When I did a search, there were 15 threads about poly clay... I guess I was hoping there was some overlap there, somewhere.
No worries, I was just hoping to get an idea what to expect before I started experimenting, or that someone could recommend something with similar properties that's more...
Well I'll probably do a mini-test on a smaller piece, but that won't help me with 2 and 3. I'll let you know what my results are when I try it, but I'm still weeks away from being done with what I'm working on now.
Yes, quite a bit of time. We lived in the middle of nowhere, so I was probably watching cartoons into my early teens because the choices were pretty limited. I don't think cable came to our area until I was at least 15 or 16.
You know... back in the good old days when I had to walk to school...
You might like "The Philadelphia Experiment" then.
One movie I'm surprised I don't see mentioned more in lists is "The Long Kiss Goodnight". The idea of Gena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson as assassins/spies may seem like an odd casting choice as a pair, but I always thought the film was well...
On Saturday mornings:
Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner
Smurfs
Land of the Lost (how did I not realize they used the same footage of Grumpy over and over?)
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl
Wild Boy
After school:
You Can't Do That on Television
Dangermouse (late imports from the BBC)
At night:
Buck Rogers...
To save $3,500 I would gladly learn basketweaving myself. :/ I agree, it's one of the more striking outfits from the movie.
Fiber Crafts - BLICK art materials
In case you need a source for natural reed materials. ;)
I have something in mind that I want to build, but I haven't worked with all the materials yet so I wanted to check with some experienced users and see if there would be any problems with the final piece.
1. Is it possible to sculpt a negative image into a piece of polymer clay, bake it off...
