Just found this thread so thought I would throw my 2 cents in. The early Noble wands were MUCH better in my opinion. probably because they weren't as mass produced in the early days as they are today. One of the main differences that you are probably noticing is that the newer wands have metal...
Funny that I just saw this thread. This stone was mentioned when I travelled to North Berwick Maine a few years back to pick up the sign used at the construction site in the film. The guy I bought the sign from told me of someone else in the town who took the stone home after production had...
I really did not like that fact that they made it look as though Alan Parrish lived in some tropical resort tree house equipped with blender and electricity for margaritas. It really downplays how PTSD he was coming out of the game and how sinister Jumanji really is. AND the board was terribly...
Boxes weren't cnc'd. The outer box was machined (what I guess would mean hand cut with a power saw or such) and the teeth around the inside lid and outside carvings were done by hand. Ik that they said what wood they used but I can't remember.
Yes, the fx board is in private hands, however that was not the main board used for moving the pieces. There was a second wooden hero board that was used for close up shots of the pieces moving as the fx board was made of hard foam/resin. Both of the wooden boards were not let out of the studio...
According to the post on the Milano Woodworks website (which I guess isn't up anymore) yes. That's how they settled on the design with the production team. All was done through cad before anything was actually carved
I'm a little curious, where was it made known that the outside carvings of the Jumanji board were made out of resin? I'm pretty sure Milano Woodworks said they carved it all by hand after designing it on Cad. Also, there were two hero bords made for the original, one for beauty shots and one...
Re: Incredible Private Prop Collection with hundreds of pics!
Wow. Sorry for being so ignorant. I'll just stop asking questions that will upset the computer masters.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think this is the granddaddy of all Jumanji boards. It sold at Christies in December of '96 for around $6800 and I think this is one of the hero boards. Unlike the hero board that has been seen so far at ExpoSyfy, this would be the board that they kept clean and...
Here's another static stunt board that sold in a Profiles in History auction in 2009 I think. I've screen matched it to one that is being carried away in the water after the pelican pushes it in.
