Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Pre-release) Newt Scamander costume

I've found the SA waistcoat fabric but it appears to be sold out. Still in contact with the mill trying to work something out. MagicInc I'm super interested in those boots, I'd love to connect with your SoCal cobbler. MacCulloch & Wallis has the best alt fabric for the shirt but it lacks the...

Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them

Nothing even close, unfortunately. I've been following the FB2 photos and it would seem that Newt's outfit is nearly identical in cut (some minor tweaks here and there but mostly identical) but 100% new in fabrics, including new shoes. His jacket has a slightly revised lapel/collar shape...

Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them

The bow tie has been the one genuinely elusive part of this costume. I cannot find anything like it anywhere. Apparently the two biggest manufacturers and distributors of grosgrain ribbon have gone out of business within the last few years so it's very likely that this bow tie is completely...

This 3 meters for sale in this thread is in addition to the meterage I have set aside for you :) Shirting is still available!

Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them

I when my order comes in, I will have 3 meters of the SA Newt shirting spare. it's 100% organic linen, and it's beautiful. $150 (plus shipping if you're in the UK), and that's essentially an at-cost estimate that splits the initial shipping and wire transfer fee 4 ways. First come first serve.

This is a common method of interfacing a collar with horsehair canvas - it is faster than padstitching but way more effective than using a fusible.

    Fantastic Beasts - Queenie Goldstein

Here's a crop of a high res I took of the real coat at FIDM. It's definitely not a jacquard silk, it's like stranded silk or synthetic cords loosely woven onto a canvas. Also a great look at the beautiful shell button.

Are there really zero people interested in a proper reweave of the overcoat fabric? £60/m is not cheap but nobody will need to put all that money up front, it'll be pieced out over several months.

I'm in the process of dyeing an alternate colorway of the original fabric to match. But I don't have anything to distribute yet. The original was also overdyed by the production.

Also, thought this might be of interest to some people. The coin is about 3/4" in diameter from point to point. The back appears to mirror the front.

Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them

I am working on dyeing the same line of waistcoat fabric to match the screen used stuff. I'll only have a handful of yardage available, as there's only 7 meters of it left. Once I have a match I'll post it here. I have a mill ready to reweave the overcoat fabric for £60/m plus shipping. Who is...

Doctor Who Holes Jumper - Question

This is probably the best route to go. Just use the regular button hole stitch on your machine, stitch buttonholes where you want the holes to be, cut them open, voila. Should be fairly stable.
