    Stormbreaker Pepakura Build (Infinity War/Endgame)

I'm really sorry but as I mentioned in my first post, I don't have the full version of Pepakura Designer so I can't save the final unfolds to share them. To recreate the vines for Stormbreaker, I rolled up sheets of newspaper and wrapped them around the head of axe, before coating them in paper...

    Stormbreaker Pepakura Build (Infinity War/Endgame)

For the core of Stormbreaker’s handle, I used a length of metal tube – both to add more weight to the finished prop as well as to support the extra weight of the partially-wooden axe and counter-weight. To create the shape of the handle I used Herban-Props/MasterMod’s pep files which I modified...

    Stormbreaker Pepakura Build (Infinity War/Endgame)

At long last, I can move onto the fun part of this build: painting!! After sealing all of the foam with PVA glue, I began with an undercoat of grey acrylic. Once this had dried I painted all of the appropriate sections silver before painting the rest in a darker shade. To recreate the...

    Iron Man Mark 85

This is the only unfold I've seen for the Mark 85 - Iron Man Mark 85 V1 - Projects - RW 3D Studios - and best of all it's completely free! I look forward to seeing you tackle this suit, it's definitely one of my favourites and it would be great to see someone build it. :)

    Stormbreaker Pepakura Build (Infinity War/Endgame)

For the “slabs” connecting the axe and the counter-weight, I needed a material that could withstand the extra weight of the two halves as well as provide a sturdy base for attaching the handle (otherwise, there was a chance that the axe could break if I swing it around and let’s face it, what’s...

    Stormbreaker Pepakura Build (Infinity War/Endgame)

For Stormbreaker’s hammer/counter-weight I followed the same process as for the axe blade – print out the pep templates, cut them out of card, reinforce the bigger pieces with hardboard, assemble, then coat the inside joints with paper mache.

    Stormbreaker Pepakura Build (Infinity War/Endgame)

I decided to start by building the axe head because it takes up such a huge portion of the prop but also has the least number of parts so I figured it would make an easy starting point. After printing out the Pepakura file, I began drawing on the various detail and panel lines before...

    Stormbreaker Pepakura Build (Infinity War/Endgame)

I absolutely adore Thor's not-so-new-anymore weapon and with Endgame just around the corner I knew I had to add it to my collection! For this build I’m using the awesome Herban - Props/MasterMod Pepakura file as a base, which I downloaded from here. This isn’t the most detailed model but I plan...

Preventing condensation on inside of mask?

Hey everyone, I’m currently working on a Red Hood build and one thing I noticed is that my breath is causing condensation to appear on the inside of the mask. The design doesn’t really allow for me to drill any breathing holes, but I’m conscious that the condensation may damage the mask over...

Captain America’s Shield – Card and Foam Build

All of the pieces for the brackets were cut out of craft foam, with the corner pieces glued to a layer of cereal box card for extra strength when supporting the straps. I then glued the brackets to the inside of my shield and painted them silver to match. For the straps, I bought a sheet of...

Captain America’s Shield – Card and Foam Build

Finally, it’s time to paint my shield! For the star, I used the template from the Instructable mentioned in my first post and cut the 5 segments out of cereal box card. I attached these to the shield using PVA glue and painted them silver. I then painted the centre circle with metallic blue...

Captain America’s Shield – Card and Foam Build

With the basic shape of my shield completed, I can start preparing it for painting! First of all, I sealed the foam with several coats of diluted PVA glue (I used a ratio of roughly 1 part water to 1 part glue and this really seemed to harden the foam as well as give a smoother surface for...

Captain America’s Shield – Card and Foam Build

Thanks! It doesn’t look too bad so far... there are some areas that aren’t perfectly curved but if these still show up after I paint the shield, I may need to get creative with some weathering to disguise it. ;)

Captain America’s Shield – Card and Foam Build

Cap’s shield is yet another iconic prop that I really want to add to my collection. I actually made a replica out of cardboard several years ago, but the results were not-so-great.:p Which is why I wanted to give this another shot. I'm going to be using cardboard for the majority of this build...

Iron Man Mark 50 (Battle-Damaged) Suit

Thanks iamshazam! I've never seen that type of foam before but it could definitely have its uses on a build like this. I'll do some research and let you know what I find; I reckon this would be great to use around the joints and other areas where the suit might need to flex without getting...
