Studio Scale Time Lord Space Station (Doctor Who 1986)

Just a quick look and I think some of the spheres are from the Revel 1/34 Gemini kit, the round "lid" parts look like the top from a Caddy-Matic which is a British device that hung on the wall and delivered a measured amount of tea at the press of a button. There are several models but it...

Got a new toy to help my builds

I seem to be doing the same thing with material. It used to be looking at the shapes of things to use in builds, now it's can it be used in the laser! The laser stash consists of several 4x4 ceramic tiles, a few mirror tiles, leather scrap, and the 1st victim... a hot dog that I etched my name...

Got a new toy to help my builds

I knew going into this that the laser was going to be unusable out of the box. The biggest issue is the China electrical power grid and the fact that they don't use grounds in the country. The laser comes with a ground connector on the back, however the hole it's in has a thick layer of powder...

Square windows (like .75mm and smaller)

Have you tried melting the windows? For small rectangle windows I heat the end of a needle (eye end) then press it through the plastic. it leaves a rectangle shapped hole the size of the eye.

Got a new toy to help my builds

I've wanted a laser cutter for a while now, and this seems like the time to get it. To be delivered the 27th is this K40 cutter etcher. I've already got the new "old" power meter and parts on order, but would like suggestions on anyother mods the unit might need.

Airfix reissues some vintage kits used in studio models

Only a few molds were destroyed in the train crash. A lot of the Aurora molds (duplicates, and originals) had been sold off by the time Revell bought the remainder from the bankrupt company. Revell's owner at the times "recycled" molds that didn't sell well, or that were of items Revell...

I Want To Build A Vacuum Former And Am Looking For Advice

As your pulling the plastic over the buck it is cooling. The thin vacuum table allows the vacuum to remove the air quickly and produces a stronger suction than a table with a large area under the vacuum surface. The quicker the plastic is sucked down over the buck the less chance the plastic...

    Studio Scale Kit Part SWAP-SHOP

Quite a few of the AMT 1/25 scale trucks have been reissued in the last year and a half including the Kenworth W-925 and the White Freightliner. I think the parts you are showing are from the White Freight liner. check with your local hobby shop.

Any opinions about JCModelworks (James Guard)?

My personal belief is they see it as a safe crime that has little chance to come back to bite them in the A**. Most of the time they don't live close to their victim so they don't fear them showing up at their door. Then there is the cost to go after them simple math says if it cost you $5000 to...

Any opinions about JCModelworks (James Guard)?

In my groups I have simple rules to follow and if a member breaks then 1 warning and your out, but I also screen anyone that wants to join to make sure I'm not getting folks with a record of being trouble makers, or anyone who has cheated anyone out of money. I tend to enforce the rules...
