I've been a Predator fanatic since the original movie. I've been interested in Stan's work for many years too, but Pred is definitely his ultimate crowning achievement, imo. I'm 48, live outside Pittsburgh, PA. My wife and kids think I'm crazy for buying expensive busts and models of relics from sci-fi movies and going to comic-cons, etc. The usual ******** most of us put up with probably. I'm an illustrator/graphic artist (RISD class of '82), so I have some sick painting (and a little sculpting) chops, but I've never actually attempted to make a mask, but have always wanted to. So I joined THL as soon as I accidentally stumbled upon it in June of '09. Now I'm just taking it all in hoping to garner enough basic knowledge of sculpting for the sole purpose of mask making. I just want to say in advance that I love pouring over the archived banter in here, and how impressed I am with many of the members' pieces. I hope to some day emerge as an active member that members instantly recognize, and can comment about, but for now my cupboard's bare -- except for some models I painted, but I won't post after seeing the high level of excellence represented here. But that will change... more to come.
