    Uncharted Movie Finally Begins Shooting

Loved every Uncharted game although though 2 had the best story. When rumours of a movie first were mooted, I always saw Joe Flanagan from stargate Atlantis as Nate, as the way he played Colonel Shepherd seems to fit the character. that Was then, but time has moved on. Hope Tom Holland does the...

Things you're tired of seeing in movies

In every crime/ cop drama, the heroes turn up at the dead body, and it’s still lying in the same position as when it died. Even if paramedics or similar have been to attend it. Never once have I seen the body lying in its back, with AED pads on the chest, or some other example that an attempt to...

Star Trek: Questions you always wanted answers to

Turbo lift conversations which seem to go on for many more decks than the Enterprise ever had, if every flash on the light panel is a deck. Either that or the lift isn’t very turbo, and moves at the speed of a Victorian hotel elevator!

    Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet”

Any Red Dwarf fans remember the episode Backwards? Season 3 episode 1. Wonder if Nolan was a fan...

Star Trek: Questions you always wanted answers to

Me again. (I’ve too much time in my hands self isolating). But, are there any ships, other than Enterprise that have the letter suffixes? Where are the Reliant C‘s or the Grissom D’s or the Yorktown E’s? Are there any examples of reused ship names that should have, but haven’t?

Star Trek: Questions you always wanted answers to

If Data and a self aware hologram, such as the EMH on Voyager are basically computer generated lifeforms, why does the Doctor program appear to have emotions, while Data (until the chip) did not?

Things you're tired of seeing in movies

I might have mentioned this before, but it takes me right out of a scene whenever I see indexing in older set movies, filmed recently. To see the finger placement on a WW2 rifle just looks wrong. Yes, modern weap discipline, but surely they ought to let it drop for period films.

Star Trek: Questions you always wanted answers to

Observation: many times throughout all the various series, the crew will beam out a pilot of another ship, (captain Christopher in ‘tomorrow is yesterday’) moments before it explodes. Assuming the pilot is in a seated position at their version of ship controls, does the transporter automatically...

Things you're tired of seeing in movies

Why do apartments and houses look so damn tidy in post apocalyptic films and tv shows. The Walking Dead houses look more like ideal homes than lived in domesiles. After a week on ‘that flu’ lockdown, my apartment has coats on the back of every chair and every mug in the cupboard used and a plate...

Leigh Whannell's The Invisible Man (Post-release)

Went in with middling expectations, thanks to the trailers, but once it began, was sucked straight into the story. Found it tense, creepy, with a couple of good set pieces and the ‘oh ****’ moment which had me exclaim out loud.(I never do that!) I really enjoyed it. Can gloss over the ‘but what...

Things you're tired of seeing in movies

has anyone noticed when a character is beaten up and has blood on their face, carefully applied by the make up department before shooting, that the same line of blood is always still in place, several scenes later, often portrayed as hours later in the story? its as if the character hasn’t...

    James Mangold's Ford v Ferrari (Post-release)

Watched this very ‘blokes’ movie last week and really enjoyed it. No forced agendas, no overt wokeness to satisfy the perpetually triggered. Just a story about two men taking on a bigger challenge and winning. Great story, good action and acting from Bale and Damon. Knew Bales character was from...

Yes, yes, yes! “Meanwhile, downtown, a bank robbery is in progress. Units are responding. Now back to our regular programme”

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (Post-release)

What happens when Hollywood locks a group of 12 year old boys in a room with a laptop containing “how to write a screenplay” software. “Pew, pew, pew, and then the car smashes through the window and the nuclear power station blows up”.

Things you're tired of seeing in movies

Picture the scene. The detectives walk into the murder scene. There’s a body lying face down. They’ve been deemed dead. CSI are all over the room, dusting, fingerprinting. What, no one thought to call paramedics, roll them over, try cpr, feel for a pulse, try first aid? ‘Yup, he’s obviously...
