Star Trek USS Centaur studio scale

The tank tracks appear to be 'panzer iii/iv track link type 7' I don't know which exact parts were used on the studio model, only that they're 1/35 scale. I found it hard to get accurate parts, as many are the early ones with the hollow central guide prong. Mine are supposed to be later ones...

It would be really nice to see a GC one that isn't based on the Eaglemoss collectable model.

The port side grille might not have been fully formed when molded, or something could have happened during the build that affected the part. I guess it's 'battle damage'. I've tried to keep my build faithful but have smoothed over some imperfections and tried to correct asymmetry. The biggest...

Star Trek USS Centaur studio scale

Here you go - I've attached some macro shots of the parts. Don't forget that there's another Marquis Raider grill on the underside of the saucer (it's the smaller one in the pics). Hope these help you in your quest. I printed the decals for my Centaur the other day. My big hold up on my build...

I'll get my macro lens out and take some pictures of the unpainted part. The cylinder things are a little soft, but it's probably more by accident than design.

Thanks, I'm hopeful I'll get mine finished this year too. I'm waiting for warmer weather as condensation is problem with paint this time of year and I'm banished to the garage which doesn't have any heating.

I just watched the pilot episode of DS9 again tonight, as it's being rerun on Sci-fi channel. I remember seeing the Centaur the first time around, time flies. My Centaur is sitting proudly on a shelf though I'm still at primer stage. I manged to get some painting masks for the Excelsior class...

Hi I'd say you're on the money.. However, you need the 90s Excelsior kit not the reissue, as the saucer was retooled and is different; particularly on the underneath around the neck. My other, hopefully helpful, thoughts are below. The deckoids are identical whether they're in the Enterprise...

Star Trek USS Centaur studio scale

Hi, I've not decided upon the brand of decal paper. It's been a few years since I made any decals and the UK firm I used to use, has gone out of business. It's a pity as they had a neat product that was cheap and self adhesive (so no issues with water) and looked good after clear coat without...

You're welcome, I hope they work out for you. I'd suggest doing the washes then getting some UV fluorescent gaffer tape to make the windows and nacelle coil strips, this stuff is easy to find on eBay. You can roll it out on a cutting mat then cut it to the lengths and shapes desired. It looks...

Here's the decal sheet as a PDF file for paper size A4, you just need to download it, save it to disc then open in Adobe Acrobat Reader (it looks rough when viewed through an internet browser):

Here's the crisper Buckner ones printed out and below is my Centaur with the large registry number:

Star Trek USS Centaur studio scale

I've finished the decal sheet. I've reached the point where I'm not making any meaningful improvements. I've added some variations to the U.S.S. Buckner's registry number, these are: • A crisper version which is less congested / more legible and looks more similar to the Defiant's markings • A...

You're welcome. My build wouldn't have happened without this thread and you've certainly contributed by detailing your build and showing the kit parts needed. Once done, I'll provide the finished decal sheet file to anyone who wants it.

Okay here goes, the first picture is a rough test of the Buckner decals printed on plain paper, then we've got a screenshot of the work in progress and lastly a view of the decal sheet. The technique I used was to apply masking tape to the model, then to mark on it where the decals go by...
