If you're looking to maintain a weight, then just don't subtract the 200-500cals. If you want to bulk, add 200-500cals. It's all simple math. 1lbs = 3500cals.

I'm using a pair of 5.11 boots (don't remember the exact model) that I got from work and covering them up with some leather gaiters. Seems to be a better option according to most that I've talked to.
What is everyone using for gaiters and/or spats? I looked at a couple on Amazon, but couldn't find the right color/size. I can dye some brown ones, yeah, but I don't want to get into cutting them down if I'm already having to mod them with buckles and straps.
Any ideas?
It's slightly bigger than the waist, but I'm thinking of leaving it that way instead of tailoring it in. If I sew in snaps were the belt can hide them, it'll provide a little room to twist without the pants going out of whack. I would say about an extra two inches of material. I might take one...
