Some added details this weekend. I also started on his blaster but just in the early stages. Added lights to his left gauntlet. Need to make some whistling bird points! And you can see my wonky scrap foam pad buttons. lol! And made mock display for his right gauntlet. Some clear packaging...

Used acrylic paint to dye these thift store shoes, and then used acrylic paint and Modge Podge for the soles. I also added foam details to hide the straps. The 'ole graphite powder trick!

I did not go the epoxy route for the helmet which made mounting the visor a tad more difficult. The helmet assembly was not one of my better attempts. Luckily the eventual metallic sheen hides a lot of flaws. (Note the modified cheeks here.) I discovered Rustoleum's Filler Primer on this...

Finished up our first attemp at DIY cold foam dreads. Semi-successful. About a third of the dreads ended up curing too stiff. The flex foam is really finicky and I finally realized later that less of part A makes a more dense and softer lock. The learning process was enjoyable (to a degree)...

I was just rereading this and realized I liked your previous post about switching out the backer rod. Man, I should've taken the hint back then and went with the foam cast method.

Build keeps going ... So I picked up some Flex Foam 3 and alginate to familiarize myself with the process of making foam dreads. The backer rod looks okay enough but she can't move her head very well, if at all, and you miss one of the characteristics of the dreads which is the trademark sway...
