Thanks. I really appreciate it! Indeed! A hot wire foam cutter works wonders. Doing anything out of foam is pretty cheap and extremely lightweight. Perfect for theater or film.

Thanks. For the water edge and rivers, I used a hot wire foam cutter. Worked great for taking away large and smooth chunks for the waves. Along the edges of the map I used Spackle to create a wavy texture and then lightly sanded it. I wanted to carve all the text on the map, but I didn't...

What kind of material do you intend to try? Would you consider wood or another material? I found the foam insulation board worked pretty well for shaping, but if you want something sturdier, wood would probably work better. Here's a link to my website (still a work in progress) with some pics...

Just finished an EVA foam beverage insulator using a template from SKS Props. It fits a medium size plastic Solo cup so it actually can be used for beer!

All I can say is this is super inspiring! I too, although I was not around at the time, was and always will be a fan of Indiana Jones. So cool to see someone take one of the props from the games that you never got to see on film. Thanks for sharing!
