They just came out with the rock/phaser thing a few months ago, I doubt it's a licensing issue. Things like this just don't stay in production forever.

Kronos One had a moderate amount of physical detail added/changed all over the ship (in addition to the photoetch). The warp engines were lengthened and lit. They also cut out portions of the front vents on the... wings? And added recessed detail similar to the rear. Here's a nice collection...

I think people might just be overpaying for their kits? I bought the lighting kit for $60 on cultTVman. That's basically $30 for the photoetch (which is designed to work with the lights so no, they shouldn't sell it separately) and $30 for a basic lighting kit. That's not only reasonable...

Um, that's fudging fantastic. The halloween light works amazingly well. Is this a personal project or is it part of a fan film? I'm guessing you're shooting video because of the lights, but would your setup allow for stop motion?

The '89 Batmobile was painted in multiple iridescent shades to give it a bug-like appearance. You can see a lot of green, some blues and purples. It's a subtle effect and I've never really seen anyone recreate it. They painted it gloss black for 'Returns.

I've used duplicolor lacquer primer on several Bandai Star Wars kits, it works just fine. Their plastic is the same as anyone else's...

All of the licensed products and the production artwork for the film show it as it is on the model kit. More reference is needed.

Let's hope this is just that start of a vast new "Trek Tek" line. DST sold out of every item they ever produced for that and yet somehow it still took them years to bring each item to market and they've seemingly just stopped all together.
