    My Super-Accurate Ghostbusters Coveralls

Hi everyone! I haven't posted here in a very long time (mostly doing NASA spacesuit stuff), but I recently got back into Ghostbusters after many years of being away. I wanted to share the super-accurate Ghostbusters flight suit I've been working on the last few weeks. I borrowed Adam Savage's...

My Apollo A7L Space Suit V3 - FINALLY MAKING MY OWN SUIT

Been a while since I posted here. I've done quite a bit more spacesuit work over the last couple of years. You can see some of it here: http://www.ryannagata.com I also did some work on the new Neil Armstrong movie, "First Man,"...

    What super glue is best?

This has nothing to do with the glue itself, but I think the Gorilla Glue brand CA glue bottle is genius. There's a little metal rod in the top that inserts into the tip to keep it from clogging. The cap always seals tight and I can use the entire bottle to the last drop without it ever clogging...

    Anil8tor's Apollo A7L replica

Welcome to the RPF, David! The velcro was pretty tan originally, not white. It varied quite a bit (the Apollo 11 suits were fairly light), but still not white even back then.

    Budget Mercury suit

That particular piece was purchased from another builder somewhere. I was only planning to make one suit then. When I revisit the Mercury suit, I'll make my own master.

Yeah, it's supposed to be a white cable, but the one in that picture was cast in urethane and turned that yellowy brown color very fast. I have a cable that was cast just like that and it's brown now. When I redo my mercury helmet I'll cast the cable in silicone.

Machine sewing a patch to velco, tips and tricks welcome.

You may want to try stitching the patch to a larger piece of velcro and then trim the excess off after you sew. That way you don't have to be super precise. That's what I'd do.

Have you thought about paper mache? I've seen some people get very smooth finishes with it. You could form it on a large balloon.

    Apollo A7L Moon Suit

Yeah, that's not the material of the one I saw. Probably a nylon pack cloth or cordura.

    Apollo A7L Moon Suit

This stuff looks pretty good for the basketweave-type beta cloth: https://www.onlinefabricstore.net/white-420-denier-coated-pack-cloth-.htm?gclid=CjwKEAiA6YDBBRDwtpTQnYzx5lASJAC57ObM40z5p3OPjfqwYV4toop4rFsKHvLIYRZG7K1yyWx3HRoC5vTw_wcB And it's super cheap. I use it a lot. I've seen one of...
