DL-44 ESB Blaster Discussion - Greeblies POST 208

    2nd. Yes, the "doofus" knob!

DL-44 ESB Blaster Discussion - Greeblies POST 208

Not weird. I agree! The knob looks clumsy. The Thorens disc exposed looks more elegant and interesting. It even looks more thought out as an attachment for the scope mount. I think the coolest ESB DL-44 would have been the Bespin flash hider with the Thorens disc scope mount and the notched...

DL-44 ESB Blaster Discussion - Greeblies POST 208

As the previous Mara Jade's Father says "But what are we seeing?" It is hard to even tell what the shape of it is. I do know that Telefunken was a very popular European Radio company but we still don't know for sure if it is even a radio knob. Who would have thought that that the greeblies on...

DL-44 ESB Blaster Discussion - Greeblies POST 208

I'm into old amps, radios and the like and knobs don't have bases like what we see left on the Hoth blaster. The potentiometer that the knob mounts to does not attach like that. It makes more sense that the knob was just glued to the scope bracket to cover the screws. The prop department did a...

I think Dark Energy Creations has the best flash hider and barrel sleeve in both steel and aluminum. His scope mount is very nice but it is cast pewter which I am not too keen on. His steel scope mount is very expensive. Todds has the best scope and he should be getting some in soon. His scope...

Here are a couple good pictures of all the parts put together.

Live Fire DL-44 ESB Luke/Han Bespin

Yes. I hand threaded a short section of the barrel on my ANH DL-44 but I knew this much would be past my skill level to do well. I can't take all the credit because I have a buddy that works as gunsmith. I met up with him and he helped me thread the length barrel and the inside of the flash...

False barrel tip to mimic the original barrel poking through the flash hider.

I was going to use this scope mount that I got a while back. It is better than many but not quite right. The hole is not in the right spot but that would have been easy to move. The bend is also not a perfect 90 angle. I just ran across Bobadebt's mounts he is selling. Seeing that this is...

Sorry for your luck on the frame. I was think about doing the off center thing too but Scotts idea sound nice too. We will see what I end up with.

Since you have done this Scott- how did you end up attaching the scope mount so it did not rotate. I was thinking about adding a second post attached to the frame of the gun that goes up into the scope mount but is still hidden by the spacer and threaded knob. That seems strong enough and simple.

I started taking the Sherman M19 scope/sight assembly apart. It needed to be gone over and cleaned up some. I am glad I got a nice one with original mount. It was pretty special being the first one in it after 75 years or more. I also love how when the ring is illuminated the reticle lights up...

Live Fire DL-44 ESB Luke/Han Bespin

There seems to be several different ways the flash hider was mounted. I wonder how many different Mauser versions they made. Then there were also resin versions. One looks like the barrel was just cut off. Another looks like it was just pushed through. These two shots one of Luke and another of...
