Making Oogie Boogie costume. Suggestions to make it Glow -n- the dark?

Holy crap! That's just incredible! Funny thing is I just watched this maybe an hour ago. You think if you painted it in the dark, under a black light, you'd be able to cover the splotches better?

    Vacuum Former Woes

I think you're fine with whatever vacuum you use. Unless you're doing industrial pulls you don't need the super strong suction. What you might want to try though is use a heat gun on the bottom edges of your pull while the vacuum is still going, to keep those low edges warm enough to get pulled...

    Vacuum Former Woes

i just wanted to throw this out there, getting a bigger/higher HP vacuum will not give you more suction. small and large shopvacs don't necessarily have the same suction power, but they will all pull the same inches of mercury (if that makes any sense to you.) So you'd have to get a legitimate...

    Deadpool WIP- Mask Sculpt

it was just a partial mask thing i found at hobby lobby. it was almost but not quite butterfly shaped so i cut it down to a more usable shape, and hacked off the partial nose. Also slight update. I went to a local shop and they were able to point me in the right direction in terms of how to...

    LINK from Zelda's Twilight Princess-wip

Oh there are fans! I'm really digging the shape of that shield, as well as the way the accents pop out. Haha, I remember making a Hylian Shield out of cardboard and paper mache when I was in middle school. Still have it in my closet in fact! Well, I guess that's not totally true...it's the shape...

    Deadpool WIP- Mask Sculpt

Could anyone give me advice on the best way to cast this piece? There are tons of methods and materials out there and I know nothing about them, or which would/wouldn't damage this type of clay. There's a store in my general area that sells casting/modelling stuff so I'll try and get over there...

    Deadpool WIP- Mask Sculpt

This thread was one of my main inspiration points for the concept of the design, though my actual design ended up being mostly of my own making. http://www.therpf.com/f78/video-game-style-deadpool-mask-177060/?highlight=deadpool (Thanks AZspidey)

    Deadpool WIP- Mask Sculpt

Thank you! And kinda yes. Except the mask will have open areas that the sculpt will be visible through. I'll link to one of my inspiration threads when I get to my computer and it should answer your question right away.

    Deadpool WIP- Mask Sculpt

Ok, here we go. I apologize for the crap cell-phone shots. I don't have my good camera available currently. That's what I've got done so far, which is one night of work. Again, this is my first venture into sculpting, I don't even think I did any clay work in highschool...

    Deadpool WIP- Mask Sculpt

Hello everyone. I've decided that this year for Halloween I'd get a jump start on my costume, which is going to be Deadpool. I figured I'd need to give myself tons of time, not because the character is particularly difficult, but because I'm fat and out of shape and will need the extra months to...

SW The Old Republic Jedi Costume

This looks fantastic! lightyears better than how my first sith project turned out. Can I make one suggestion, though? If you look at the drawn concept picture of the jedi warrior, you can tell that he's got shoulder guards underneath his robe. I put them on my original sith armor when I made and...

    Mandalorian EVA Foam Beskar'gam

^ Exactly that. Use heat. A heat gun will heat up the foam to a point where it will hold it's shape if you form it and let it cool while formed. Careful though, too much direct heat will burn the foam. If you don't have a heat gun you can use a hair dryer, albeit it will take a bit longer to do.

    LED's and other electronics?

i dunno, it's not really too far removed from something like google glass. and all this is doing is providing picture, not virtualization, no video capture, no date and time, etc. i'm not saying it's readily available, but it *should* certainly be doable.
