It looks like plain old everyday clear plastic tubing/surgical tubing to me. It also appears that the gel (whatever it was) either biodegraded or caused rusting of the metal bits (or maybe both), resulting in the brown residue.

Hey all. I browse a lot of these threads and have always had this question in the back of my mind. There's a bunch of "common knowledge" information out there about studio models, such as "the Millennium Falcon studio model is 5 feet long" or "the ESB Star Destroyer model is 8 feet long" and...

Just as a general bit of caution: I strongly encourage you not to trust any answer generated by an AI, because AI doesn't know ****. LLMs like ChatGTP et al. just provide essentially a best guess as to what an answer looks like based on similar answers to other similar questions in its training...
