This was my thinking as well. From what little reference I've seen, they appear to be the same small purple rivets. More references would always be nice of course to confirm that.

The recess near the emitter is ~31mm and the body section below the ridges is ~35mm. 30mm should be a perfect fit and not stretch too terribly much. I need to pick up a bunch of these myself, so thanks for the link.

That is some cool engineering, but seeing these breakdown images just makes waiting that much harder. You really should restrain yourself. :P

Yes. I thought it might be my browser, but I've tried a couple different ones and I get the same error for each one. The saber is looking great though, can't wait to see it in larger-than-thumbnail size. :D

Along the lines of what Foe Hammer said, the bevel along the top, I think appearing more pronounced because of how much the knurling seems to cut into it. On the original, the knurling doesn't seem to have gone as deep into the upper bevel as on the replica. But that may be trying to split...
