Are MPC B-WING and Bandai 1/72 pilots in scale?

A used book store near me sales used collectibles and one can often find scale models there.. some sealed, some open. And some will be partially built, others fully built and in the box. If they're priced right I'm not above picking up those partially built and "starting over" but being...

    Round2 Acquires Star Wars License

I live in East TN, and Walmarts around this area do get a pallet or two of Revell / Round 2 kits (movies and cars/trucks) but I've only ever seen them right before Xmas. There are usually a few of them that find their way to clearance each year, but you have to be on the ball and watching...

    Round2 Acquires Star Wars License

Wow... I'm really behind. A 1/12 scale Landspeeder kit. As I collect Black Series 6 inch, and have completed Bandai's R2 and 3PO I'd be all over this. Is it confirmed?

    Star Wars Micro-Galaxy aka Jazwares

I picked up a couple of these at Ross at good prices (Anakin's Interceptor, couple of TIEs, AT-ST, and Slave 1) and was more impressed than I expected. I'd have probably paid full price for a Gunship but never saw one. I also got the Falcon at Ross and its interior was amazing. Unfortunately...

Request for info on painting a 3D printed helmet

Thanks. I watched a few video tutorials on different techniques and bondo/acetone seemed to be used often, with good results. I will go that route, working on the underside and rear of the helmet first to familiarize myself with the proper consistency. Thanks again

Request for info on painting a 3D printed helmet

I placed a couple of drops of acetone on the back of the helmet (in an area that had not been sanded) and it didn't soften at all. Also, tried sanding and it was sort of what I imagine sanding a brick would be like. I believe it's safe to assume it's PLA... lol. I've been doing some research...

Request for info on painting a 3D printed helmet

Thanks, Taz. Sorry for slow reply, been away a couple of days. I'll hit a spot on back with a drop of acetone tonight. It looks as though it's been sanded a bit, and them primed (is what I think). I have some of the 2 part resin, but it's not expired.. at least to my knowledge.. lol. I...

Request for info on painting a 3D printed helmet

Sorry for slow reply, been out of town a few days. I will try sanding tonight. I was hesitant to do anything without doing a bit of research. It looks as though it has been sanded somewhat by the seller, but I'll hit myself tonight (starting in an inconspicuous spot) and see how it does. Thanks.

Request for info on painting a 3D printed helmet

I received a 3D printed Burned Vader Helmet as a gift and was hoping to get some insight regarding proper prep and painting procedures. A buddy picked one up for me and one for himself. His was painted but he knows I enjoy building models and painting so he got mine unpainted. I didn't want...

Products that were not intended to be used in model making but work anyway

You just helped me immensely, picked up a used Bandai TIE Interceptor that was missing 2 of these wing cannons. Your expert timing was that of a master at kung-fu fighting. Thank you, sir.

    Red Squadron diorama

Very impressive work, anxious to see the finale. You seem to be a man who knows his way around an X-wing.. maybe you could give a rookie a tip. Do you have any advice for masking off the crazy barber pole stripes on Luke's cannons? In honesty, I'm not there yet and may be overthinking it...

    Tattered rocket made from scratch

That is really beautiful. The rocket itself is phenomenal, and the paint job is stellar. Well done.

Can you get replacement parts for bandai kits?

Don't mean to hijack your thread, buy had a similar question. Bought a used (partially assembled) Bandai C3P-O, and was so diligent about checking that all parts were there that I forgot to check Polycaps, and of course, 2 were gone. As it's 3PO, I'm not a bit concerned about losing...

Bandai 1/12 scale The Mandalorian ( Din Djarin).

Excellent work. I picked up a Molotow pen and was very impressed with the paint, but chickened out using it out of fear it may never dry correctly. Did you airbrush the paint? Again, great job.

    Bandai Polycap help

I took a break and started another kit, but I was thinking something similar with trying to scratch build the part with other polycap. I've even been thinking of sticking a few polycap shavings in a glass jar with extra thin cement. I'm sure it'll just be a hot mess, but it'd be amazing to find...
