Re: The Definitive Hawkeye "Avengers" Costume Thread
That could also just be the lighting in the shot. Hard to tell. I hope that it actually is closer to the concept art.
Thanks. I was going to have him do more of an Aragorn type character, but since both me and the actor are both Highlander fans I thought it would be awesome to throw him in there. And of course, when we did one of the rehearsals I had them fight in a parking garage just because. :)
So, here's two versions of my take on everyone's favorite archer (well, Marvelites anyway). The first is the cold open video for the 1st Annual Geekie Awards (where Stan Lee got the Lifetime Achievement Award and performed his own poem "An Ode To Geeks".

Ok, so I've done the Hawkeye SHIELD uniform from the movie (and for those of you that saw the show "Fangasm" on SyFy and caught the final episode where they showed the launch party for Comikaze that we me as Hawkeye in the fight show) and am working on a more accurate version of his "Avengers"...
So, after having set this thread up forever ago, I finally have some pics of my own to post. I went with my own take on the SHIELD look, not quite striving for 100% screen accuracy. The following pics are from several different events the past few months. The ones latest ones are from a private...
By the way, the second site (FM-Anime.com) currently has them on sale for $45.90. Shipping for me was $25 to Northern VA. At that price it makes me feel much better about cutting them up to make better versions out of real leather and bail closures.
I just ordered a pair. I have a pair of old ski boots with the old style bail closures. I think I'm going to take those off, paint them silver and attach them. I guess I will also have to add some leather on the outside to make them a little thicker.
Looking again at the high res pics, it looks like the navy blue fabric on the front of the pant legs is also put in the vest as those "flap" things under his arms. Same texture/weave and it's clearly lighter than the black cordura. Makes sense that there would be some of the navy put in to tie...
So I'm still playing around with ideas for the folding bow. I would love to see the pics of how you did/are doing the different hinged sections.
My plan is also to use magnets, and see if I can get some spring hinges that are strong enough to pop the limbs out but still let the bow stay folded...
Wow - this looks really good. I totally agree that the ribbed section is a seperate undershirt. In fact, I think that the whole "vest" is actually several layers with the burgundy part being seperate as well as the black shoulder sections. If I ever get a chance to get started on this project...
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. They're closer out of the box than anything else I've seen, and some work would make them much better.
Just always nervous ordering stuff from overseas sites I don't know much about.
Hawkeye's boots!
Has anyone ordered these or seen them in person?:
