There are plenty of people that get a cut. Its widely known Spielberg and Lucas swapped percentage points on Close Encounters and Star Wars. Disney bought Lucasfilm, but didn't buy everybody's percentages. Lucas would have been dumb to not keep a percentage of what he created.

That’s the only theory that makes any sense, but it’s weak as they weren’t there through all of ROTJ and were then removed before TFA. Some were present on the droid in the Sandcrawler with Cobb Vance. And then they disappeared when they cut to the CGI version. Whoever had the idea to add them...

Every time I think about them adding those in Mandalorian, I just get frustrated as to why they did it. Other than to get droid builders frustrated...
