Thanks so much for posting these pictures. They are super useful. So this production model mold is the same size as the screen used one, or is it a little smaller? By my calculations, this looks scaled down a bit.

That's interesting. No offense, but that model is really off on a lot of important macro and micro details.

I did quite a bit of studying the chin box, trying to figure out what's going on with it. At first I thought it was concave or sunken in around the hemispheres. But closer inspection revealed that it's actually flat, with the center ridge built up to flare up and into the curve of the round...

Honestly, I think modeling this for a 3D printer would take about as long. The helmets for the film were made this way, then pulled from a mold with fiberglass. That's how I want mine.

Once I got the mohawk on top, I could start taking the light unit seriously. I referenced a lot of pictures and played around with the dimensions, made several cardboard mock ups and settled on this one: I even took some pictures trying to recreate the angle and distance from some reference...
