Lots of tinkering. :) I think it ended up being something like 6 different layers of elements in Photoshop sent to different opacities...everything from a bubble popping to water coming out of a faucet.

@Imellies We just did a photoshoot last week...the coat is only 90% done (you can see where the collar keeps flipping up because it needs some tacking) but the jist of it is here!

Made with custom printed fabric for the body suit. The tabard is linen lined with no-pill fleece, which gives it a nice weight. Bracers and leg-guards were made almost entirely out of scrap fabric I had on hand. The belt was cut and tooled from a veg tan blank, the buckle made out of Sculpey.

My Garona cosplay, made with foam, leather, stainless steel scales, and other bits and bobs. Tusks were molded from friendly plastic, while the bones in her hair are Sculpey. Wig is a Lindsay from Arda Wigs, dredlocked in places using a lot of backcombing and heat from my heat gun.

Not at all! It's a dusty rose silk velvet. This is it by the yard but we only needed the amount for the lapel and the cuffs so we got a smaller quantity here.

I finished my Newt costume for Katsucon and gave it a test spin! The coat photographed a little lighter than it is in person, but I'm happy enough. Now that I've got the pattern down, I might remake it someday out of something more accurate than boiled wool, but for now...sleep. :)
