    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

Cheers Steve...good to know. Strikes me as ironic somehow that Bandai produce the best PG Falcon, sourcing many of their own historic kits to do so. Ok got the gun printed. Fully directional, of course There's a few minor greeblies to place on the gun emplacement but this section is done I...

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

OK, another section modelled. U can get a crazy level of detail with resin printing these days and some of these parts are pretty intricate. There is no clue as to what some of the more unusual pieces were originally used for by just studying them in isolation. but there are some choice objects...

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

Thanks Stu. Your awesome build is one of the threads that inspired me to tackle the 5' MF. Old school will always be the best school! Update time. I have modelled all the parts for the UPPER JAW...at least all the parts that I can find decent pics for and laid them out on a paper template...

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

All good...got the shell fully assembled and filled, and fixed onto a steel pole. There is another steel pole running across the docking rings which I have welded on to give lateral support I won't properly attach the mandibles until I've tackled the plating and greeblies

    MYNOCK

Found one of these in my workshop...chewing on the power cables! Anyway. interesting build. Made a large flying creature and a baby one, wings folded. Modelled them in Zbrush and 3D printed them. Coated them in black rubber and latex and painted them up. Biggest task was the wings, in Latex...

    R2D2 3D PRINTED

Thanks guys. yeah well spotted on the skirt...I only noticed myself when I posted these pix. All dirty now though. The files are on Thingiverse and are taken from the builders club spec apparently. They were quite low res so I edited them to be nice and printable without too much finishing

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

yeah the entire shell will be re-faced with a coupla coats of sprayable filler and then sanded smooth before the plating goes on. Does anyone know if there is a preferred thickness of Styrene to use for the plating...I was thinking 1mm?

    R2D2 3D PRINTED

Wassup guys. Just posting some pix of an Artoo I built. I've done a full aluminium/animatronic droid before so it was nice to be do a printed one. Also this one is for the Yoda hut scene on Dagobah so he's really filthy! Also nice to do a 2 legged version

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

A few more parts fresh of the printer...first off, the mandibles Then the cockpit scene. Printed the bulkhead wall and ceiling panels in clear so they can be painted up and backlit

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

So, got half the shell printed. I'm printing with a 1mm nozzle on a CR-10S5, so it's really not that arduous to produce these big pieces Port side; Starboard side next...

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

OK got a few bits to start off. Focusing on the smaller 'bite size' areas before tackling the mandibles and upper deck I will be using a combination of FDM and resin printers to generate all the parts. For some of the tiny greeblies I have printed them as one part to simplify matters and cut...

    MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

Hey guys. So not sure if this is the right sub forum to post this thread...I am intending to build a faithful replica of the ANH 5 foot Falcon but I aim to 3d print as much as possible and model the numerous greeblies as required. Probably very little kitbashing for me Obviously it doesn't get...
