    MCU style Wolverine

Personal design choice. This is meant to be an MCU-style redesign, and with the exception of Spider-Man, all cloth masks/cowls are adapted into helmets. That, and from a personal view, all the real life cloth/flexible Wolverine cowls I’ve seen look kinda silly. One of my personal goals with this...

    MCU style Wolverine

As the title suggests, my next big project is designing and building a Wolverine costume that might fit within the world of the MCU. I recently bought a 3D printer, and began learning zBrush to work on the mask and other pieces. I just completed a 100 hour (!) print of my mask design. The...

    Leonardo WIP (Custom design)

Awesome-Con was fantastic. I fought heat exhaustion all day, but it was worth it. I also entered into the big costume contest and took home two prizes for Best Portrayal and Best Craftsmanship. Here's a few photos (as well as a shot of how I handled the feet).

Haha, I don't want to put the cart before the horse. I'm just excited that people like what I've done so far. :$

Thanks so much George. Your encouragement has been appreciated! I've already had both a professional stuntman and an indie director get a hold of me independently wanting to do a TMNT short since I posted the completed suit last night. I'm just a guy building this in my dining room , making it...

    Leonardo WIP (Custom design)

We're finished! I'm tired (ha!), but will go into detail of missing steps (painting, feet, fans for the mask, etc) in a few days. I'll also post some better pictures from Awesome-Con this weekend, but here's a few quick pics. Thanks for all the tips and encouragement!

    Another latex mask paint up.

Thanks! I used some baby powder and that REALLY helped. But yeah, I think the problem was just too much oil paint in the mix. Thanks again!

    Another latex mask paint up.

This is great! Maybe you can help me with a problem I'm having with painting foam latex: My paint job is super sticky, even days later. I followed the tips on stan winston school which are: Rubber cement base Paint layers (oil/rubber cement/paint thinner) Rubber cement sealer It's been days...

We'll see how bad it shows up when I do another test fitting. In the mean time, the shell is finished.

Thanks! Im working on the paint job this weekend. There was a tough start, but I've got it to a place a like. I'm having issues with the armpits (I did not apply latex there for breathability and am now kicking myself for the spandex color).

Been SUPER busy with this build, and I'm nearly finished. I'll post more progress pics later, but I did a test fitting with what was done. There's some things I need to consider and fix, but I'm really happy over all.

Built an oven for casting the gloves in foam latex over the weekend. It isn't much, but it should do the job (but if someone with experience has any tips to improve it, please let me know!). I still need to add the casters so it's off the ground (will use it outside) and a rack so the mold...

    Leonardo WIP (Custom design)

I dabbled in 3D modeling in college many years ago. I was decent at it, but sculpting with real materials is definitely a different beast, though it's not as different as your mind wants it to be. You still have to understand forms and details and all that. The problem that I've found is knowing...

    Leonardo WIP (Custom design)

Another update: I'm nearly finished with the back shell; just need to add the growth rings around some more sections. I also started work on the belts and straps. Feeling a little good about the process, I put them together to see how things were looking. It's starting to look like a turtle...
