Random thought here, but could his ability to turn his head be two fold? First, the cowl has been made in such a way that there is more flexibility in the neck. Secondly, it almost looks as if the cowl is somehow fastened/anchored to his torso. There seems to be almost zero movement on the lower...

If you're planning on sculpting the pieces you're going to end up using either urethane or a latex rubber for your final pulls. If you're looking for something a little less expensive you could always go with eva foam or sintra...the foam is pretty user friendly for us noobs lol. I'm still...
You can also search "muscle suit" on YouTube and you will find several different methods for making a foam muscle suit. That's where I got most of my info for making one. Although in a perfect world we would all be able to afford one from Flex Designs.
