In the end I went all analogue. Just a charger for the Lipo is integrated that also allows to use 3.3V and 5V giving you two speeds. I can put up some pictures of the end wiring. I will be doing an SLA printed one, maybe that's the occasion to do an instructable. But that is a lot of work as...
As many are asking. The stls will be made available soon, I am just very busy in the moment given these crazy times. I can't take on any commissions right now for that reason also.
All was printed in Atomic gun metal gray PETG. I prefer PETG for props as it is easier to post process and more...

Thanks, I may make something that is closer to screen but it may be very uncomfortable to wear for longer periods. I Need some air around the neck or I get crazy in 15 minutes. It would only require a new neck ring.
I did a neck silicon cover for the helmet. In the movie there are two different ones. This one makes most sense to me. Did 4 layers of Dragon skin FX-Pro in a 3D printed form. First layer tinted black. Talcum and some Milk powder weathering.
Recast the molds. Much less work. If you don't have vacuum or pressure cast the silicone by creating a thin stream of silicone. That will get rid of most of the bubbles.
PLA is very hard and breaks easily but also has a low melting temperature. Gets soft at 60-70C. Boring can heat up things and melt the PLA. I would remodel and print without the part you want to remove. PETG is much easier to work with.
I share my free models under noncommercial share a like license.
Yes people will take the stls and sell the models on ebay etc. People let me know often when that happens and you can send take down notices through ebay or etsy. Mostly happens with small adapters and such not with props though...
Check out Psycho Paint- Platinum Silicone Paint Base from Smooth On. Only easy way I know to keep things flexible and convincingly painted. Beautifully done.
