sorry its taken so long to answer…yes, I took measurements from an original casting of a Mark iv and created a 3D model which I printed…the interior is taken out of a trashed vintage era appropriate helicopter helmet and the graphics stamped on the interior were created on my laptop and made...
Well, after maybe 4 years (?) here's the final shots of my replica of a US Navy Mark IV full pressure helmet which was the fore runner of the Mercury Program space helmet along with the full pressure space suit by the Navy...there would be a lot more to do if I were to make it museum quality...
Well...I shot it with s Tamiya gold and thought it looked goofy...reshot with Rustoleum and its a little more toned down...but I think the white color as posted above just feels more "real"....any thoughts?
struggling? no need...this thread is about me trying to source understanding, materials and process to make a Mark IV USN pressure suit and helmet...the 3D scan images you show in your previous posts in this thread were excellent, unlike the 3D helmet scans I have been working with to this...
