So, I have finished one of my helmets as a birthday present for a good friend of mine. He requested severe battle damage... so i went a little crazy...

Busy with the Helmet at the moment. On the left was my first test-print with some black epoxy on the dome and the nose. On the right the ABS version. Here you can see the registration indentation for the nose piece.
I have an Ultimaker so my print bed is roughly 210x210x210mm. I'm going to use high quality PLA to print it. For smoothing the print, I'll try out something new. I have a few resin samples coming in this week that should help me. Not the Epoxy-stuff you usually get. But that's a different story...
And here are the first pictures from my first test helmet. Probably going to reprint this since i tweaked the design a little. At least you get the idea behind the Hex inserts.
I grew up watching Star Wars with my Dad and made my first Vader suit when I was 12... from papermaché and cardboard. I couldn't find the picture of it but let me say... I needed some more practice :D

The model i got from them was nothing like the one they advertised on their page. That made it impossible for me...
Dear Nicholas,
I am very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the cast. I saw that you opened a case on paypal and wrote here in the thread and made this a public affair without contacting me at all beforehand. These matters are best resolved when communicating directly and openly with...
A little test print. Looks good so far but I need to make the walls a little thicker and then I can print a potential master in 0.1mm
The one in the picture is printed with 0.15mm
Still working on the visor. I vacuum-formed one for testing the material. But it is harder than I thought to add the metallic tint. If there is any input... I'm all ears.
I'm experimenting with some material for the visor. This stuff is pretty reflective from one side but the visibility from the other side is great as well. Might just work out for the visor. I'm also working on the honeycomb pattern for the visor as well. I'll be posting updates here as I go.
