okay!, just an idea i'm throwing out here but, maybe to make the suit more like the comic you might want to just use the spandex as the lens already since you can usually see through it, since these suits are usually skintight anyway. so if you do that than in the comic it kinda looks like a...

have to say that that this is a pretty good suit for a budget build, so you should keep creating! EXCELSIOR!!!

I'd say if your going for a movie style for low cost than first, get the web shooters off a toy that looks somewhat good. Second, paint before sewing its just a hassle having to stuff your costume then stretching it. So just paint before sewing OK? I hope this can help have fun man!:D
