Stripped down armor and am repainting it, adding more details. Torso is pretty much done.

Thanks. Some more Wondercon pics from different angles. I rushed the paint job, didn't seal it and also have a lot of work left so I'm sanding it down to the primer now.

    Borderlands Maliwan Submachinegun

This is a mod of a Nerf firefly, painted in the Maliwan style. It is not a specific gun from the game. I grungyed it up a bunch.

Question: wood filler over plastic, will it make a convincing wood effect?

Yes, dry brush the light color after the base coat. The metal on your prop looks great.

Question: wood filler over plastic, will it make a convincing wood effect?

I'm going to tell you how to make this look amazing on a budget with no special tools. I'm cheap and I'm guessing you don't want to spend a bunch either. I would buy a can of plastic fusion spray paint (Home Depot)in the closest color you can find to what you want, Then I would go to a place...

Question: wood filler over plastic, will it make a convincing wood effect?

I agree, paint is the way to go. Since this already has a wood texture you could take advantage of that, paint it with a base color, dry brush with a lightened version and wash it with a darker color. Since it is plastic I would lightly sand it first and use a plastic fusion spay paint for the...

Thank you! I found a couple examples of the helmet and one of the full suit, but it is pretty rare. I scoured the net looking for examples to see how they solved different issues, but had to figure most of it out. I think for the rest of the armor I will go with EVA foam.

    Lich King Build

This looks amazing! I would only use resin if you need to stiffen parts. Resin is much harder to sand than bondo. You can get the bondo very smooth with fine sandpaper. I would finish the bondo with fine sand paper, prime, patch as needed and wet sand the final coat of primer for a very smooth...

Hoses, Lenses and Lamp. I added the hose between the breather and the holes in the front mandibles(?), it's a reinforced plumbing hose that I thought had an interesting texture and washed it with black enamel paint. The lamp is an aluminum LED flashlight that I took apart, I covered the lens...

Part 2 Bondo, Details and Paint I next covered the mask and cowl parts with a layer of bondo and hand sanded it. This was way too much work, then I read all the recommendations for palm sanders and bought one, world of difference. After first layer of bondo and then after four or so. Next I...
