    Adam Savage's ZF-1 (Fifth Element)

Nice looking ZF-1 there, Adam! It's coming along nicely. Only one complaint about the video- WHY can't the camera operator hold the thing still? Sharp zoom in, zoom out, wiggle around, cut the tops of your heads off, zoom in again, shoot at a 12-degree angle...

    Disney Jungle Cruise costume

Nice! If you come across a Frontierland Outdoor Foods (Westward Ho, Turkey Wagon) costume, I don't want it. Nothing like brown pants and long-sleeved, brown flannel shirt in the summer, in Florida.

Screen-used props you've passed up, then regretted later?

I remember seeing a similar one of those at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure (The short-lived mashup of Geauga Lake and Sea World Ohio). There was a driver hidden inside the hood, lying down, and Batman pretended to drive from the cockpit.

Weta Tenzan Chainmail....where does it go?

Never thought to use PVC pipe- that's excellent! I have a coat I made years ago, but it's galvanized 14-gauge wire, so it weighs 35 pounds- far too heavy for use as a park costume. Might have to try the plastic kind.

Could be meeting Stan Lee right now...

Well, crap. We totally screwed that one up! Thanks for all the responses, and next time I'll make sure we get the correct info ahead of time. Like I said, I've only been to one Comic con, and that was 12 years ago. Live and learn!

Could be meeting Stan Lee right now...

Stan Lee is at the Pittsburgh Comic Con this weekend. My wife and I were going to get the 2-day pass, and go Friday to meet Peter Mayhew, then today to meet Stan Lee. We left work early, and she got to the Monroeville Convention Center first. She had a feeling that something was wrong, and...

    Celebrity jerks?

I worked at Walt Disney World in 1993-4, and was there for the famous Nancy Kerrigan "Mickey bashing". (She was riding in the parade, and was saying how horrible it was, how embarrassed she was to have to ride with Mickey, etc, and was MIKED the entire time.) I didn't meet her, but heard she was...

Very cool, but Milton may track you down to get it back!

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 5: The Black Pearl Under Construction? It's not necessarily just the last few years- they were making stupid decisions when I worked there in the early Nineties, too. Walt WOULD be spinning in his grave, if he'd gotten one.

    Using a Dremel/Rotary Tool

I used to wear a pair of Dollar Store goggles while using my Dremel to cut utility knife blades (I made miniature sword jewelry), and had the dremel disc snag on a blade and shatter both. A piece of the steel blade STUCK into the lens of the goggles, and cracked the lens vertically. If I hadn't...

What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Unfortunately, right now there are 3 air-cooled Volkswagen engines on my workbench. I need to get two of them repaired before September, so I can work on my Halloween stuff for the amusement park I build for.

    Your FAVORITE Screen-Used Prop!

The only screen-used items I currently have are the red wool coat and 30-06 rifle my dad used when he was a Zombie hunter in "Dawn of the Dead (1978) (Technically he still has them, but I have used the coat for Zombie Walks at Monroeville Mall, where a lot of the movie was filmed.), and the...

    Ghostbusters Mr. Stay Puft Display

Excellent job on that display! When Disney had all the "Nightmare Before Christmas" stuff on display at the Disney-MGM Studios they did something similar with Oogie Boogie, so you could see his armature. It shows just how much work is put into these objects, to make them realistic.
