Advice sought, anyone in contact with REL aka Richard Long

Moffeaton is right, in reality what can you do. Type a sentence on a message board? It's been five years, if he was really interested in making a mends. Somebody would have spoken up here recently. I've given up on the whole thing, he owed me more than just about anybody else. The guy is gone...

Advice sought, anyone in contact with REL aka Richard Long

He did leave quite a trail of destruction behind. If he poked his head up anywhere in the hobby, he would get jumped pretty quick. Even if you did get into contact with him, I don't think much would come of it. He wasn't known for responding quickly, I would suggest either finding someone...

    DELETED.

I'm really enjoying this, it's amazing what one can do with so little. That is in comparison to what it took to create the original effects. What I'll say next isn't meant as slight at all, the crispness of it throws me off a bit. It looks too clear, I think that has to do with today's...

Advice sought, anyone in contact with REL aka Richard Long

I've been hearing that excuse for years, as if not being a business man is an excuse for bad behavior. There are plenty of guys in this hobby that are not business men nor would ever claim to be. They never cross the line that these guys did, they understood their limitations. Get people what...

Advice sought, anyone in contact with REL aka Richard Long

We want to look for the best in everyone, but we have to face facts that there are people out there who want to take advantage of others. In REL's case it was early on, if he had any good intentions they were out the window about the time I had my first dealings with him. There was supposed to...

Advice sought, anyone in contact with REL aka Richard Long

After 2 years I would figure he is long gone, pardon the pun. Last thing I heard about him, he got divorced. That's not going to help us get what we are owed. I figured he is off seeking suckers in some other hobby. Good luck finding him, but don't hold your breath.

I've learned the hard way apologies do not mean very much. It's just words, but actions on the other hand mean a lot.

You do come across that way, but I've come to expect that in the ST fan community. Which is the main reason I don't talk about what I do very much. Or be a part of it any more.

He never did, it takes a lot of effort. You have to show that your serious. Plus having a really popular thread in the studio scale model section. And it helps to have friends, which I do. But if you ask for the drawings you will never get anywhere. I will never show them, that's part of the...

AMAZING new pics of the Enterprise inside and out 2016

That's why we have vibration mounts. This stuff is really solid, I think it's more they either do not want to spend the time/money. Or all the people involved do not have much of a mechanical background. The down side of motors, they have to have someone keep an eye on them. And they have to...

AMAZING new pics of the Enterprise inside and out 2016

Not using electric motors? I was never impressed with the led blinky effect. I'm confused, there is no load on on the Big E spinners. Motors today are cheap and really reliable. Ventilation isn't much of an issue either. I'll bet they are more concerned about something coming loose, and...

What she said sounded like politics to me as well. Imagine the fallout if she said the last guy botched the job. These people work for the government after all. :) Ed did go overboard with his restoration as a lot of us had discussed in past threads. When the guy is modifying original parts, he...

The before image was cropped from a hi-rez image of the E. Taken around the time of production. Even the Kerr drawings reflect the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised if my image is in their archive. I was surprised to see where it showed up in a google search.

Here you go, this is a pic I made. For a previous thread. It shows the part was modified in the last restoration.
