    11th doctor waistcoats

Reading the Neckties thread and I saw some reference on the waistcoat pattern might be wanted, this may be the closest shot I've seen -

    11th doctor waistcoats

It isn't only Journey that has the plain buttons on the waistcoat, I think they are also in The Rings of Akhaten. Maybe the coat started out with the silk buttons for Cold War and Hide, which were filmed first. The two Victorian era episodes were shot next [different costume of course]. Then...

    The Original Prisoner Series

I once saw one on Bonhams website in a past auction while searching for Doctor Who costumes. The description said the jacket is dark brown and not black. Couldn't say if it was genuine or not. Some of the Who costumes were laughably fake but that is not to say The Prisoner ones were, Bonhams...

What? Star Trek started in black and white?!

TOS Trek prop fruit from "The Apple"....or maybe a planet

Are you thinking that the planet models were filmed and then the clouds were superimposed afterwards? Found this photo of a TOS planet model and it is all painted as one: TOS planet Sadly not possible to tell from the photo how the model planets were mounted or suspended. IMO suspended is not...

TOS Trek prop fruit from "The Apple"....or maybe a planet

There were only about a half dozen planet models in the whole of TOS as this site would have it : Planets in TOS. That narrows down the options to be checked and provides more reference on each one at the same time. :cool I do think if this mystery prop were a planet model it would need to...

TOS Trek prop fruit from "The Apple"....or maybe a planet

Re: TOS Trek prop fruit from "The Apple"....maybe.. Absolutely, I was meaning that not having any hole would mean it is unlikely to be one of the weird fruits and if it did have a hole its not really conclusive of anything one way or the other but it could still be a fruit prop. I don't know...

TOS Trek prop fruit from "The Apple"....or maybe a planet

Re: TOS Trek prop fruit from "The Apple"....maybe.. I notice the fruit being held in the signed photo has a hole drilled in it. Maybe this was to attach them to the trees? If your item has a similar hole it would be a little more likely to be from that episode, and if it doesn't then it is more...

Profiles in History Dec 2012 is up

Yet again the standard of proof in relation to authentic costumes and props is beyond a joke. I shouldn't be surprised anymore! The gullibility of the buyers just encourages unscrupulous sellers to exploit them. I saw some really hilarious examples of bogus Doctor Who items in Bonhams past...

Profiles in History Dec 2012 is up

How helpful of all these photographers to shoot from the same angle! The claws alone on the book photo are much more pronounced and single that one out.

A photo of the other side could be pretty conclusive then! :lol

Profiles in History Dec 2012 is up

When one pipe has been deliberately made to resemble the other as far as possible then is finding similarities in the detail really a surprise? That's the whole point of a replica. IMO looking for differences would be the way to approach establishing whether one is a cast of the other.

    AND yet ANOTHER BTTF question...

Jehudah, take care never to read about quantum physics. The logic centres of your brain would jump out of your ears and strangle you in protest. It is very very weird but things really CAN happen two different ways at the same time. :eek You are confusing logic with expectation. Our...

Doctor Who Original The Doctor costumes

The 5th Doctor coat did always look very smooth on tv. Tv of that era was only about 600 pixels high and must have smoothed out the details in everything we saw. Useful for hiding cheapness of props and sets! This is the costume arriving at the Cardiff venue. Looks very smooth. The...
