I hate to be a pest... but what do you use to paint the buckle? I have a resin cast buckle that I can't seem to paint to save my life. The color just doesn't seem to stick very well. Do you seal it first?
Re: First Time Build... Iron Man MK VII(ish)
The back piece is now plastidip'd, but I haven't applied paint yet. Despite it being slightly off center, it's the best piece I've had so far.
The biceps and forearms have been challenging. I have big forearms and arms, so it's hard to keep...
Re: First Time Build... Iron Man MK VII(ish)
So I switched up a bit. I'm 6', and I weigh about 240 lbs. I figure that War Machine will fit me much better than the slender Iron Man armor, and I don't want to warp the proportions to make it fit.
I'm using these files by Stealth...
I'm using the same pattern and I found that I had a lot of problems scaling the parts to fit. I'm fairly muscular in build and getting the forearm scaled up high enough at the elbow end to taper down to the wrist basically made it so I had a shoe box on my arm... your attempt looks a lot better.
Re: First Time Build... Iron Man MK VII(ish)
I've actually been on the fence about modge vs. plastidip... I might actually go with the plastidip... It may be a bit more expensive, but the overall effect seems worth it.
Re: First Time Build... Iron Man MK VII(ish)
Ahhh... thanks for the heads up... that makes sense... but it hadn't occurred to me until you said something. =)
Greetings everyone,
I've lurked for a lonnnnnng time. I finally decided to get into the thick of things.
Sorry... but it will be yet another Iron Man build... :facepalm I'm going for the Iron Man Mk VII look. I am going to be doing more of a custom paint scheme though... I'd like to see...
