Thanks! Ill check these out. I want to use individual LEDs, the strips I've seen have LEDs too spaced out. Plus who knows what project is in the future, better to learn it from the basics.

Don't want to derail this, but I'm trying to put LEDs in my clu helm, and tear out the current el wire. Does anybody know good books/tutorials for a beginner just getting into wiring, LEDs, circuitboards, etc...?

Hey, thanks for the images and insight, definitely helpful. When you added the wire connections between the two pieces of el tape, did you have to embed the wire into the tape? or is it simply on top of the tape? My el tape looks like it has a coating on the backside, will I have to dig through...
