Horror Craze - What To Choose

I was going to put Black Sunday on my list, but I've never seen the whole movie. :) I was watching it on Chiller Theater in Pittsburgh back in the 60s or 70s and never made it through the whole film. What I saw was pretty scary as I remember.

Horror Craze - What To Choose

    1. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. The original ABC Movie of the Week from 1973 still scares me to this day, and I love watching horror movies. 2. The Grudge. Don't know if it's just the creepy actors or the direction, but it's scary! 3. Night of the Living Dead. Saw this at the drive-in when it...

Getting Ready for the Dark Knight Rises

One problem we're having with my son's Batman suit is it is way too glossy. Any one have any suggestions for a way to make vinyl/rubber armor look more flat? I was thinking about using dullcoat or a flat black paint, but thought it might attack the rubber or just flake off.

Getting Ready for the Dark Knight Rises

My oldest son is the manager of a restaurant that's hosting a Bring On The Knight party on Thursday that's being held in conjunction with the local movie theater chain to premiere the movie. He's been tapped to play Batman, and one of his co-workers has been tapped to play Bane, and we've been...

    FineMolds Millenium Falcon 1:72 Replica

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried dry brushing a model like this? Spray the whole thing flat black, then brush on multiple shades of gray using a dry brush that gets paint on the high areas but leaves all the cracks, gaps, and panel lines black. I build mostly aircraft, and accenting...

I know that the movie Jaws is a classic, but!!!

I remember those comments, with most of them coming from Jacques Cousteau who was always on one show or another saying Great Whites weren't a threat to anybody. Then he and his son Phillipe almost became lunch while filming a TV special and that was the end of that crazy talk. :)

I know that the movie Jaws is a classic, but!!!

It was the same deal with Robert Shaw. He wasn't the first of second pick, and it was just due to some off the wall issues with other actors that he got the part of Quint, but can even imagine the movie with someone else in that role?

Nash Bridges Screen Used Cuda for sale on Ebay!

Speaking on behalf of my fellow Mopar purists, you'll find most of us would touch that car with well less than a 10-ft pole, but not at that price. An original 1970 HEMI 'Cuda convertible is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars because they only made seven of them. Plymouth made 550 or so Cuda...

    The Walking Dead Season 3

I'm betting Carl does get killed off for the same reason I think they killed off Sophia: those kids are aging faster in real life than they are in screen time. My money is on them killing off Carl, then they'll have Rick focus on the new baby, who can be played by any baby for years and years.

    70's paints

Humbrol was the Cadillac of paints back then, especially if you were working on anything that would have a flatter finish to it (military equipment, well-used farm equipment, weapons, etc.) Floquil was more of the choice for airbrushers as it was one of the best paints in the 70s for using...

I know that the movie Jaws is a classic, but!!!

I sat in theaters 223 times in 1975 and 1976 watching Jaws, and have gotten it on Laserdisc, Beta, VHS, and DVD since then, and it's still one of my favorite movies. I snuck a tape recorder into the theater at the Monroeville Mall and recorded the movie and listened to it thousands of times...

    Celebrity jerks?

I'll third Tom Savini and his lovely ex-girlfriend Jeannie Jeffries. I was all of 17 when Romero was filming Dawn of the Dead at Monroeville Mall outside of Pittsburgh. My sister was an accountant at the JC Penneys where they did a lot of the filming, and since she didn't have a driver's license...

    Prometheus - Elizabeth Shaw

Did you get a cotton replica or a original nomex suit? I wore these for years while I was flying aboard Navy P-3C Orion aircraft, and the cotton copies are much more comfortable than Nomex. Nomex is much hotter, heavier, and doesn't breathe like the cotton replicas do.

    Dark Knight Rises

I'm just anxious to see if I can spot my son in the crowd scenes at Heinz Field where he was an extra during the filming there. He said he spent eight hours in the sun jumping out seats in an imaginary panic, so I hope his efforts were worth it. :) Too bad they won't be showing the footage of...
