    Etsy Enforcing Orange Tip Regulation

I've had a mail back from Etsy, specifying the items that violated their policy. These were 'realistic' guns - Derringers and a modded Luger - which I've now removed. My understanding is that this policy only applies to 'real world' props, so I'll be sticking to Nerfs and Rayguns from now on.

    Etsy Enforcing Orange Tip Regulation

Thanks for the compliment, Veritech. I got a mail from Etsy today; but they were deactivated yesterday! Time difference, I suppose.

    Etsy Enforcing Orange Tip Regulation

Interesting. I'm based in the UK and yesterday I found four of my pieces - painted up Nerfs and toy Space Guns - had been made inactive. There was no notification from Etsy as to why, so I re-activated them. I assumed it was just a glitch; but you never know.

    This immediately springs to mind.

Last Man Standing: killbook of a bounty hunter, Gun-Tar Build: Pic heavy

Re: LMS GunStar Guitar: Pic heavy Will you be able to play it, or is it just going to be a prop? Reminds me a bit of this:

Re: LMS GunStar Guitar: Pic heavy Ha, me too! However, as a guitarist myself I'll be following this build with interest.

    Fancy Dress Steampunk Revolver

I think Steampunk's getting a lot more mainstream, otherwise a commercial fancy dress company would not take the risk of producing a Steampunk range.

They do this one as well; but it doesn't really look the part.

    Fancy Dress Steampunk Revolver

These have been around for a while in the US; but have only recently appeared in the UK. They're quite small; but really come to life when given a decent paintjob. Steam-powered holdout pistol anyone? Hope you like it.

Sending 'unrealistic' guns from the UK?

Hi Birdie. I haven't heard of any alternatives to good ol' Surface Mail so I 've restricted my sales to UK and EU only. However, as Megamicrofish says, you might get away with sending a Marvin the Martian type raygun whereas you'd have no chance with a Pulse Rifle. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

    Nerf Gun Props? YES!

Here it is, the 'Definitely Not Mal's Pistol'. The big finger screws are from an old printer cable. Hope you like it.

    Nerf Gun Props? YES!

Good luck - those zappers were all over the place a few years ago here in the UK; but now you just can't find one anywhere. I'm not going to touch the grip or trigger area on mine, I'm going for something like an earlier model Mal, or more likely a cheap and well-used local knock-off.

    Nerf Gun Props? YES!

Here's some WIP pics of my 'Definitely Not Mal's Pistol'. The barrel is from a cowboy gun-shaped TV remote control I found at the 99p shop a while back. I had to disable the firing mechanism; but it still cocks.

    Nerf Gun Props? YES!

Cameron1138 - I honestly hadn't thought of the Firefly/Serenity angle; but it looks right at home in the 'Verse, doesn't it.

    Beginner needing Ray Gun help

You've got some great tips and advice here, and I'm looking forward to what you come up with. However, If you've not worked with resin before, I'd recommend that you wear some sort of dust mask while sanding, as inhaled resin particles are definitely not good for you.
