What can I do about green mold that appeared on plaster molds?

Right. Bleach or simple chlorine will work. and a dry plaster mold will prevent new mold too. Don't lay the molds directly on the floor, so that air can surround it. Plaster molds need very long to get completely dry and they tend to suck the moister out of the air, so a dry and warm room is...

Bob the Alien (Giger inspired Alien)

Sorry for your friend! Sad news. The lost wax casting on the other hand sounds very interesting. I work in a foundry for 3 years now, but mostly in the metal workshop. But I know the trickiness of wax well. Not an easy material to work with. Nickel plated bronze teeth for bob would be...

    Cast Aluminum Mandalorian helmet!

yes, I also didn't find any projects like that when I started back then, but Handschaubs Buckets. That was a reason to document all progress of my helmets here. Just watched through my old Thread an replaced the non-working Photobucket-links with uploads of my photos. Have a look, if you are...

    Cast Aluminum Mandalorian helmet!

All lost wax hot cast;) Yours look cool. First thought, aluminum might be a little bit too warm in color, cause the Mando helmet often looks bluish cold, but in some other scenes it looks quite similar. A clearcoat also changes the color a bit.

    Cast Aluminum Mandalorian helmet!

Very nice! There once was a member here, called "Handschaub" who made a series of aluminum cast Jango Fett buckets. I had also the chance to made some aluminum cast clone trooper helmets. Polished the Commander Gree partial. Aluminum is not so well to grind, but polishing is pretty good.

    Mask making, eyeball question

ALIEN Statue cast in Bronze (1979 Movie version)

Yes, massive bronze :D. The density is even higher than iron. I made some bigger Aliens 10 years ago and they weight 8 Kg, but were just a little bit higher. The size now is actually already critical for massive bronze casts, because of the shrinking of the metal when it's cooling down.

ALIEN Statue cast in Bronze (1979 Movie version)

Everyone weight around 3,5 Kg without the baseplate. When it's standing it' around 30 cm high.

ALIEN Statue cast in Bronze (1979 Movie version)

The deleted Lambert scene with the crab-walk was an influence too, yes. But I also hat the last scene in the Narcissus in mind, where the Alien was falling out of the gap in the wall. I guess I will make a group photo when they are all finished, yes. But I'll have to do the metal work first...

ALIEN Statue cast in Bronze (1979 Movie version)

Finally finished the last Alien, number 10/10. had some thinking about the pose of this one and finally came up with this one. I noticed at the former Aliens with steel teeth, that they work best, when the head is looking up a bit, so they can reflect the sky. Otherwise you...
