Hot glue segments to the base layer and cut out any battle damage etc.
Cover the entire body with newspaper pieces and a 2:1 pva:water mix and let that dry overnight.
Hot glue shell dome supports and then hot glue the shell body to this.
On a new piece of card, draw around the body of the shell, marking out the shell edge and strap holes
Hot glue segments to the base layer and cut out any battle damage etc.
Cut out pieces and bend them like the original base layer
Using paper, work out the templates for the top layer segments, allowing a 10mm, gap between them and then transfer them onto card.
Work out the shape of the base layer and cut off the excess card.
