This mask is easily the top mask in my collection. It was originally thought to be a 1999 William Shatner, but it has been confirmed by Don Post Jr. Himself that my mask is an original release, Don Post Studios 1998 William Shatner (NOT the 1999 version). The first edition 1998 Shatners originated from a laser scan of a production pull of 1975 Captain Kirk. The 1998 Shatner was, however, altered/enlarged by Darren Perks of Don Post Studios for the "production run". Modifications done to the '98 Shatner for the production run involved the nose, chin and overall wideness of the mask. My mask comes from before these changes were made, meaning it originates directly from the laser scanned production pull 1975 Capt. Kirk! The original release/unelarged 1998 Shatners, like the one I have, were too small for most to wear but however retained the same measurements as the 1975 Capt. Kirks, as well as many Kirk details.
My '98 Shatner started as a blank (uncut/no paint/no hair) and was converted by a good friend of mine, Michael-Myers.net member, "AllHallowsGhost". Hallows has only done two 1998 Shatner conversions. Mine is #1 and he is keeping the other.
AHG's '98 Shatner and mine are two of the only ones known to exist. I've only seen one other and it was in Kirk form. The "original release" version was offered in VERY limited numbers as it was enlarged shortly after being released.
This is hands down the nicest mask I've ever owned, and probably ever will. There's just nothing else quite like it.
