I am starting this topic to show my wrk in progress of the Nº 5 chess piece for the scene at the millenium falcon in ANH.
Today I worked on it (jaws, proportions and details.), tomorrow I will post new pics.
Please let me know your opinions.

Looks like a great start, from what I can see. :thumbsup

Will be very interested in seeing closer shots from a variety of angles, and particularly some comparison shots with your reference photos/screencaps. :love

Thank you.
I will post better pics tomorrow.
I only has the reference pics posted here at RPF and some screen caps.
I will take the pic in the same angle of the ref, so I will compare them.

Sounds great. Thanks.

I always love to see the amazing talent on this board. The more, the merrier. :thumbsup

Coming along very nicely. :thumbsup

Not sure whether you want supportive criticism. It looks to me as if the legs on the screen-used creature are a bit longer and/or more slender, and the joints (knees?) are are bit more pronounced.

Mouth and especially the squinty eyes look very good as far as I can tell. :eek

I'm looking forward to seeing continued development. Thanks for sharing.

I noticed that too, the foot? are to short and the leg is smoother in the reference images that you are using, all the other things are going well, it will be most accurate with some leg modifications.

Edit: if you want to be like the stop motion creature you can make it an armature and make a mold and then cast it in silicone or foam latex will be really cool and functional for an animation.

Thank you, tomorrow I will correct the legs.
I will cast them in resin because the other pieces that are in progress are made of this material.
More pics coming.

I corrected the legs. Now I will work on the textures and details.
I think the legs are too fat. I will correct it too.
I tried to give it a pose to show movement.
I am starting Nº1 too.

Here are a few pics.
