Mini Gun/ RSB-80 Phased Plasma Pulse Gun Prop

Im thinking about building a Mini Gun or RSB-80 Plasma Pulse Gun. I know If I make the Mini Gun, Im going to use a drill to make the Barrel spin ( I hope it works) Just want some imput on what I could use to make the guns or if anybody else has made one I would love to see some pictures.

Are you planning to do this in 1:1 or some other scale?

pvc pipe for the barrels, t/l metal brackets with a foam grip for the handle, maybe a huey copter throttle stick for the other handle maybe some more pvc tubes for the motor parts.
