Did a search, but could'nt find anything on this. I realize this was done for the first Iron Man film, but I thought it was cool non the less and someone could do the same for the new film!

This is a Masterle Suit, I like the comic book type appearance of this, very cool.

That was Materle's first suit I believe. Jaymay beat me to it LOL

Yes, that was my first suit ^^, i built it out of foam board, bondo, and fiber glass. I only had a week before the movie came out and made that. It was wayyyyy before any tutorials. This was my foundation of armor building. If i started from that, and my armors now, you can do the same!

I don't think there's a real way to get a 'budget' iron-man to look the part. The pepakura methods are the cheapest IMO for getting it right, but you're going to put in a lot of time and work unless you're just amazing with it. I really feel like it's one of those "you get what you pay for" situations.

You can get some very high quality results using the pepakura method. I've created models for most of the parts which a lot of the latest Iron Man costumes are using. They're fairly close to movie quality and depending on what you use to harden the pieces, they can be made on a fairly tight budget.
