Any sources for Matt Smith/11th Doctor shirt?

Just curious if there are any of these left anywhere. Missed the boat when they were on the highstreet but there must be some left somewhere, surely?:confused

Magnoli started an interest thread here:

...but I don't know if there was any progress because it kind of faded away...

I'm looking for one too, but $150 is a bit out my price range.

I might have to go with a close-enough until something is found or until Magnoli states a final price if it ever happens...

Yeah $150 is close to the price I paid for the PS shirt when they were selling the last of that spring line in August (and sold out by early September). Finding one for much less will be tough- if you even find one at all on the secondary market. At least it's confirmed he will be wearing both the burgundy and navy versions so you have two colors to choose from.

If that price range is too rich for the blood then finding a subtle striped burgandy or navy shirt is your next best bet. I hear there's some good option for 11 shirt stand ins at IZOD. But any diligent ebay/thrift/dept. store shopping should help you out here.

Beyond the possible Magnoli option Bobamatt mentioned (and I haven't heard any news since that thread was started either)... there's a really good custom option on the horizon from Gallifrey Base member Pumpkiny.
He owns an original PS shirt and has sent a swatch to be duplicated by spoonflower to re-print the fabric. He'll then be offering 11 Shirt repros (with all the mods like the cuffs, no breast pocket and revealed buttons) in both Burgandy and Navy in standard sizes (S, M, L etc.) for about $175 each. Pricing is still being finalized.

You can see his progress, pre-order a swatch and contact him through his blog here:

These shirts should become available from him next month or so.

And other suggestions on the shirt and all of the 11th Doctor's items can be found here:

Thanks for the response there!
So it seems as though there may be two suppliers working on a copy of this, which is good. I wonder how close the pattern will be? Magnoli seemed to nail the Madagascar shirt from Casino Royale and dosn't sell a shirt over $150 shipped so he seems like he could be the winner.

Knowing how both of these guys work (and you can read Pumpkiny's blog to see how exact his pattern will be since he sourced it from the real PS shirt) the pattern should be identical if not 99% close. Keep an eye out for both and then you be the judge when they're both officially available. I'm sure Magnoli's version will be great and price wise will be easier on the wallet. But having purchased some items of Pumpkiny's I can vouch his stuff is also very good. The edge he has on Magnoli is he really is a major Doctor Who fan (he started out just making the Tennant coat purely for himself and has slowly been branching out over the last year or so) and he knows his stuff. To top it off he's a perfectionist on the Who details. When he has to, he'll go out of his way on the research or trial and error on a piece to get it as-close-as-possible, if not exactly correct to the original. For me that dedication is worth the extra cost.

I re-read my post above and, to me, it sounded like I was knocking Magnoli for the cost of his shirts. That is NOT AT ALL what I meant.

All I meant was that it's a bit out of my personal price range right now. I am sure that if they do get made, they will be very nice! I would like to get one when the funds are more readily available to me.

I'll be keeping an eye on Pumpkiny's blog to see where it progresses. Thanks for posting that manofsteel!

:thumbsup
