Here are some pictures of my progress...

The main body

Aluminum stock

Adding the on/off switch

Installing the twist lock emitter connectors

Machining the metal and plastic emitter props.

The emitter pieces ready to go assemble.

Testing the glowing emitter

The first polished and assembled emitter.

It was used as an engineering, it was usually used to trouble shoot, scan and couple energy connections.

The prop makes its debut in "Metamorphosis", I think. The shuttle has crashlanded on a planetoid, and Spock suddenly has this "ray generator" prop for working on the shuttle. Perhaps he built it. In any event the prop's main function appears to be, to fly up on wires out of Nimoy's hand so that it can appear to explode. :lol

Where did you get your measurements? Did you eyeball it or are using data from a blueprint or book?
